Best answer

Pressure at the surface = 76 cm of Hg = 76 x 13∙6 cm of H2O

= 10∙3 m of H2O

\(\therefore\) Pressure at 100 m depth

= 100 + 10∙3 m = 110∙3

Applying Boyle’s law,

P1V1 (At surface) = P2V(At 100 m depth),

10∙3 m x V = 110∙3 x V2

Or V2 = 0∙ 093 V

= 9∙3 % of V
