Best answer

(c) (a+b)√2.

Area of new square = 2 (Area of the square A)

\(2\times\frac{\text{(diagonal)}^2}{2}=2\times\frac{(a+b)^2}{2}= (a+b)^2\)

∴ Each side of new square = (a + b)

⇒ Diagonal of new square = side √2 = (a+b)√2.
