Coulomb's law states that the electrostatic force between two point charges is directly proportional to the product of 2 charges whereas inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them.

F∝ q1q2

F 1/∝ r^2

F∝q1q2/r^2

F=kq1q2/r^2
