Let P(0, y, 0) be the points on y − axis which is equidistance from A(3, 1, 2) and B(5, 5, 2)

 ∴ PA = PB

= 25 + y2 − 10y + 25 + 4 

⇒ −2y+ 14 + 10y − 54 = 0 

⇒ 8y − 40 = 0 

⇒ y = 5

∴ (0, 5, 0) is the required point
