Find the centre of the circle passing through (5, - 8), (2, - 9) and (2, 1).

Let the center of the circle be O(x,y)

Since radii of the circle is constant

Hence, distance of O from  A(5, - 8), B(2, - 9) and C(2, 1) will be constant and equal

Substituting y in (i)

- 4=2-3x

3x=6

x=2

Hence center of circle (2,-4)
