A force of (2500 ± 5) N is applied over an area of (0.32 ± 0.02) m2

Calculate the pressure exerted over the area.

\(Pressure=\frac{force}{Area}=\frac{2500}{0.32}\)

=7812.5 N/m2

\(\frac{\Delta P}{P}=\frac{\Delta F}{F}+\frac{\Delta A}{A}\)

=\((\frac{5}{2500}+\frac{0.02}{0.32}) = .0645\)

∵ ΔP= .0645 × 7812.5

∴ ΔP= 503.9 N/m2

∴ Pressure required

= (7812.5 ± 503.9) N/m2
