The embryo sac development in majority of flowering plants is monosporic development. Explain this type of embryo sac development.

In this type a single mega spore mother cell of the nucellus differentiates in the ovule. Here Mega spore mother cell undergoes meiosis to form four mega spores, out of four, one mega spore becomes functional, while the other three degenerate. The functional mega spore develops into fully matured embryo sac.
