The Nile Perch introduced in lake Victora in East Africa led eventually to the extinction of more than 200 species of Ci child sh in the lake. African cat sh (Clarias gariepinus) for aquaculture purpose is posing threat to the indigenous catfishes in our rivers.
Invasive weed species Eicchornia (water hyacinth). Parthenium (carrot grass). Lantana have posed a threat to our native species.
