(a) Write the chemical equations to illustrate the following name reactions :

(i) Rosenmund reduction

(ii) Cannizzaro’s reaction

(b) Out of CH₃CH₂ - CO - CH₂ - CH₃ and CH₃CH₂ - CH₂ - CO - CH₃, which give s iodoform test?

(a) (i) Rosenmund reduction :- 

(ii) Cannizzaro’s reaction :- : Aldehydes which do not contain α-H atom undergo disproportionation when heated with concentrated (50%) NaOH.

(b) CH₃CH₂CH₂—CO—CH₃ will give iodoform test because it contains acetyl group.
