Schematic diagram of an experimental set up to study the wave nature of electron is shown below.

1. Identify the experiment.

2. In the experiment the intensity of electron beam is measured for different values of ‘q’. At 54 V accelerating potential and q = 50°, a sharp diffraction maximum is obtained. What is the wave length associated with the electron.

3. A particle is moving three times as fast as electron. The ratio of de broglie wavelength of the particle to that electron is 1.813 × 10-14 . Calculate the mass of the particle.
