Give reason for higher boiling point of ethanol in comparison to methoxy methane.

In ethanol the inter molecular forces are hydrogen bonds whereas in methoxy methane the inter molecular forces are dipole diple forces. Since the inter molecular forces in ethanol are stronger than those in methoxy methane it has higher boiling point than methoxy methane.
