Best answer

Propanol has higher boiling point than butane because it has stronger inter particle forces. In propanol inter molecular hydrogen bonding is present whereas in butane inter molecular forces are weak van der Waals’ forces. A lot of heat is required to break inter molecular hydrogen bonding among propanol molecules.
