Best answer

Old ratio = 2 : 1

New ratio = 2 : 1 : 1

X's sacrifice = \(\frac{2}{3} - \frac{2}{4} = \frac{8 - 6}{12} = \frac{2}{12}\)

Y's sacrifice = \(\frac{1}{3} - \frac{1}{4} = \frac{4-3}{12}= \frac{1}{12}\)

Sacrificing ratio Of X and Y = \(\frac{2}{12}:\frac{1}{12}= 2:1\)

Here old ratio and sacrificing ratio are the same.
