Best answer

Let the number = x

Now,

According to question,

\(-1+\) x \(=\frac{5}{7}\)

\(\Rightarrow\) x \(=\frac{5}{7}-(-1)\)

\(\Rightarrow\) x \(=\frac{5-(-7)}{7}\)

\(\Rightarrow\) x \(=\frac{5+7}{7}\)

\(\Rightarrow\) x \(=\frac{12}{7}\)

Therefore, \(\frac{12}{7}\) should be added to \(-1\) so as to get \(\frac{5}{7}\)
