Best answer

Given x = 480

Ans, x is 5% of y.

 So, we write it as:

x = \({y}\times\frac{5}{100}\)

\({480}=\)\({y}\times\frac{5}{100}\)

solving for y, we get,

\({y} =\frac{480\times100}{5}\)

or y = 900

Now, It is also given that: y is 24% of z

Therefore, we can write it as:

\({y} ={z}\times\frac{24}{100}\)

or 9600 = 24z/ 100

Solving it for z we get, z = 960000/24

z = 40000
