Best answer

Let the weight of dust picked up is x pounds

Time(days) 10 45
Weight of dust(pounds) 2.6 x 108 x

\(\frac{10}{2.6\times 10^8}\) = \(\frac{45}{x}\)

On cross multiplication, we get

10 x x = 45 x 2.6 x 108

x = \(\frac{45\times 2.6\times 10^8}{10}\) = 11.7 x 108

Therefore the weight of dust picked up is 11.7 × 108 pounds
