Best answer

Given,

Cost of TV including VAT = RS.13440

Original cost = Rs.12000

Let rate of VAT = x%

So,

= x% of 12000 + 12000 = 13440

= 120x = 13440 - 12000 = 1440

= x = \(\frac{1440}{120}\) =12

Hence,

Rate of VAT = 12%
