The sales price of a television, inclusive of VAT, is Rs. 13,500. If VAT is charged at the rate of 8% of the list price, find the list price of the television.

Given,

Let ‘x’ be list price of television

VAT = 8% of x

\(\frac{8}{100}x\)

total price = x + \(\frac{8}{100}x\)

\(\frac{108}{100}x\) = 13500

x = 12500/-

List price of television = 12500/-
