Best answer

Given,

Present population of village = 9261

Continuous growth rate = 5%

Let 3 years ago population of village was = X

So

\(= X({1}+\frac{5}{100})({1}+\frac{5}{100})({1}+\frac{5}{100})\) = 9261

\(X\times\frac{21}{20}\times\frac{21}{20}\times\frac{21}{20}\)= 9261

\(=X =\frac{9261\times8000}{9261}\) = 8000

Hence,

3 years ago population of village was = 8000
