Let the number added be x

Then,

\(\frac{-2}{3}+\text{x}=\frac{3}{4}\)

\(\Rightarrow\) \(\text{x}=\frac{3}{4}-\frac{-2}{3}\) 

\(\Rightarrow\) \(\text{x}=\frac{3\times3-(-2)\times4}{12}\) 

\(\Rightarrow\) \(\text{x}=\frac{9+8}{12}\) 

\(\Rightarrow\) \(\text{x}=\frac{17}{12}\)
