From a tap of inner radius 0.75 cm, water flows at the rate of 7 m per second. Find the volume in litres of water delivered by the pipe in one hour.

Given,

inner radius of tap = 0.75 cm

Rate of water flow through it = 7 m/s = 700 cm/s

so,

volume of water per second derived from tap = πr2l = \(\frac{22}{7}\)x 0.75 x 0.75 x 700 = 1237.5 cm3

Volume of water derived in 1 hour (3600 sec) = \(\frac{1237.5\times 3600}{1000}\) = 4455 litre
