Best answer

if \(x=\frac{1}{2}\)

\((\frac{1}{2})=8(\frac{1}{2})^{3}+a(\frac{1}{2})^{2}-4(\frac{1}{2})+2\)

\(0=1+\frac{a}{4}-2+2\)

a = - 4
