Coordinates of the vertices of the triangle formed by these lines and y - axis

(1, 0), (0, -3), (0, -5)

Height of triangle = 1 unit

Base of triangle = 5 – 3 = 2 unit

Area of triangle = 0.5 × 1 × 2 = 1 sq. units
