In Fig. PA and PB are tangents from an external point P to a circle with centre O. LN touches the circle at A. Prove that PL + LM = PN + MN.

PA = PB------(i)

As tangent drawn from external points to a circle are equal in length

PL + AL = PN + BN------(ii)

PLA and PNB are the two tengent which are equal

AL = ML and BN = MN--------(iii)

From (ii) and (iii)

PL = ML
