How many spherical bullets each of 5 cm in diameter can be cast from a rectangular block of metal 11 dm × 1 m × 5 dm?

Sum of volumes of spherical bullets that can be cast from a rectangular block of metal will have same volume, as that of the block.

 As we know that, volume of the rectangular block of metal = lbh. 

Also, volume of spherical bullets = \(\frac{4}{3}πr^3\)

Given that,

dimension of rectangular block of metal is 11 dm × 1 m × 5 dm = 110 cm × 100 cm × 50 cm and diameter of spherical bullets = 5cm (radius =\(\frac{d}{2}\) =\(\frac{5}{2}\) cm)

Therefore, number of small bullets that can be made from the block

\(\frac{volume\,of\,rectangular\,block}{volume \,of \,small\,sphere\,bullet}\)
