With weak field ligands; ΔO < p, the electronic configuration of Co (III) will be t42g e2g and it has 4 unpaired electrons and is paramagnetic. With strong field ligands, Δ0 > p, the electronic configuration will be t62g e0g. It has no unpaired electrons and is diamagnetic.
