A horse is placed for grazing inside a rectangular field 40m by 36 m and is tethered to one corner by a rope 14 m long. Over how much area can it graze?(Take π = \(\frac{22}7\)).

Given, 

Length of field = 40 m 

Breadth of field = 36 m 

Length of rope (radius) =14 m 

So, 

Area horse can graze = \(\frac{πr^2}4\)

Area horse can graze = \(\frac{22\times14\times14}{7\times4}\)

= 154 m2
