Best answer

(a)

Oxidising agent - O2

Reducing agent - CuS

(b) (i) HCIO4

1 + x + (-2 x 4) = 0

1 + x + (-8) = 0

x - 7 = 0

x = 7

(ii) S2O32-

2x + (-2 x 3) = -2

2x - 6 = -2

2x = 6 - 2 = 4

x = +2

(iii) Na2B4O7

1 x 2 + 4x + 7 x (-2) = 0

2 + 4x - 14 = 0

4x - 12 = 0

4x = 12

x = +3

(iv) KMnO4

1 + x + (-2 x 4) = 0

1 + x + (-8) = 0

x - 7 = 0

x = +7
