Best answer

(i) (3−7 ÷ 3−10) × 3−5

= (3−7 − (−10)) × 3−5         (am ÷ an = am − n)

= 33 × 3−5

= 33 + (− 5)                        (am × an = am + n)

= 3−2

= 1/32                              ( a-m = 1/am )

(ii) 2−3 × (−7)−3 = 1/23 x 1/(-7)3

= 1/[ 2 x (-7) ]3              ( a-m = 1/am )

= 1/(-14)3                      [ am x bm= (ab)m ]
