Best answer

Let’s suppose the number is x

(-3)-1 × (x) = (6)-1

On cross multiplying:

(-x) × 6 = 1 × 3

-6x = 3

6x = -3

\(\therefore x=\frac{-3}{6}=\frac{-1}{2}\)
