We know that,

As per the properties of square,

A number which is a perfect square cannot have 2, 3, 7 or 8 as their unit digit.

Hence,

Considering the property, we get

That 8 cannot be the unit digit of a perfect square number

Therefore,

Option (D) is the correct option.
