(a) Thomson’s model an atom can be considered as a watermelon in which red fleshy part represents positive charge whereas electrons (negative charge) are embedded in it similar to seeds. 

(b) Isotopes of any element have the same number of protons but different in neutron number, therefore, they have different mass numbers.
