Let × be the original price of watch. 

VAT Amount = 10% of x 

= x/10 

× + x/10 = 1980 

11x/10 = 1980 

X = (1980 × 10) / 11 

= Rs.1800 

So, Original Price of Watch excluding VAT is Rs.1800.
