Live Tv Report of Le Horla’s take off

Good evening, and welcome to BBC news.. | am Sara Williams. This is, a special live telecast by BBC on the take off of Le Horla. Our correspondent, Mike Thompson is joining us live from La Villette, Paris. Mike, can you share, the latest updates from there?

Mike: Yes Sara.. As you can see | am standing right in front of the balloon, Le, Horla. A large number of people are (have gathered/assembled) here to, witness the take off of the balloon. Couple of minutes back we had a chat, with Captain Jovis and he told us that today’s weather condition is ideal for, the flight of the balloon.

We also spoke with some of the passengers and they are now dining in the, gas-works canteen over there.. as per the established custom.

Towards my right.. you can see the technicians are busy with inflating, the balloon. They are carefully filling/pumping gas inside it though this long, yellow tube made of cloth. Well | must say.. The technicians have done a, pretty good job here. They have finished inflating the balloon and it is now, ready for the flight.

The assistants of Captain Jovis have, attached the basket and.. right on the side of the basket, on a mahogany, plate you can see the name of the balloon- ‘Le Horla’ written in gold letters., From the visuals we can see the assistants are now carrying /bringing the, barometers, trumpets, eatables, overcoats, raincoats and all the essentials, necessary for the journey.. And they have carefully placed them inside the, basket.

The passengers have finished their dining at the gas-works canteen and, one by one they are coming towards/approaching the basket attached to the, balloon. You can clearly see the happiness and excitement on their faces., Captain Jovis is checking everything one last time.. before the flight. He has, now jumped into the basket and has asked the passengers as well as his, assistants to get into the basket.

Captain Jovis is checking the weight of the basket. From his, expressions he seems a bit concerned about the weight readings and is now, having a discussion with the passengers. Some sort of confusion is going on, inside the basket right now. As from the visuals, you can see Patrice Eyries,, one of the passengers in the basket is getting down. It looks like Captain Jovis, has found that the balloon basket is slightly overloaded.. and we believe.. this, is the reason why Eyries is coming down from that basket.

And now... finally... this is the moment we all have been eagerly waiting for.

M. Joliet, a brave gentleman as you can see.. has cut the ropes holding the, balloon.. and has given Le Horla its liberty. You can hear the cheering of the, crowd and they have gone bananas. They are exceptionally thrilled and so are, the passengers on board. To all our viewers who are watching this live, telecast... what you are witnessing right now, is truly spectacular and, incredible. An amazing sight! Le Horla now appears like an enormous golden, pear moving across the sky.

Look at the reaction of the passengers! They are absolutely, enjoying the breathtaking view of the city from those heights. We can see, them waving their hands towards the crowd. The passengers on Le Horla is, definitely having an experience of a lifetime. As per our sources, Le Horla is, gonna reach Belgium by dawn. We wish all the passengers a safe travel and, bon voyage! | Hope all our viewers have enjoyed this special live telecast of Le, Horla’s takeoff. That’s all from here.. This is Mike Thompson, BBC News, La, Villette.

Next on our infotainment section we have Rahul Binoy reporting live on the story “Le Horla Conquers the Skies’ from the Gas works at La Villette.

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. Today is the day, 8th July, forLe Horla is taking off from La Villette. We are right in front of Le Horla, the hot air balloon. It is getting filled up and is swelling and wriggling like a huge worm. It is surrounded by some 300 enthusiastic people. Now the passengers are getting in. The Captain is Jovis. The others in the basket attached to the balloon are Lieutenant Mallet, M. Etierine Beer, M. Paul Bessand, and M. Patrice Eyries.

I see them talking animatedly. Now Patrice Eyries is coming down. It seems he can’t go because the balloon can’t take the weight of all of them. He walks away dejectedly. Poor guy! All his dream of an adventure is gone!

M. Joliet tells the ladies to keep off. When the balloon lifts sand will be thrown into their hats. He cuts the ropes that hold the balloon to the ground. Look! Le Horla is lifting upward like a bird lifts off. Up, up and up goes the balloon! People scream with joy! Le Horla climbs above the city of Paris and it is slowly disappearing! The sight of the earth from the balloon will be fantastic. We wish the passengers a lot of luck!
