Find p(0), p(1) and p(2) for each of the following polynomials:

(i) p(y) = y2 - y + 1

(ii) p(t) = 2 +x t 2t2 - t3

(i) p(y) = y2 - y + 1

p(0) = (0)2 − (0) + 1 = 1

p(1) = (1)2 − (1) + 1 = 1

p(2) = (2)2 − (2) + 1 = 3

(ii) p(t) = 2 + t + 2t2 − t3

p(0) = 2 + 0 + 2 (0)2 − (0)3 = 2

p(1) = 2 + (1) + 2(1)2 − (1)3

= 2 + 1 + 2 − 1 = 4

p(2) = 2 + 2 + 2(2)2 − (2)3

= 2 + 2 + 8 − 8 = 4
