Correct Answer - A
Leaves of plants contain green pigment called chlorophyll. This pigment traps solar energy. The water absorbed by the plant along with inorganic substances present in the leaf helps in the forma- tion of starch. Starch is the stored food material in leaves. The food is formed and stored in leaves, so these leaves are known as food factories.
