When die is rolled the sample space is S = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6}.

E: die shows 4 = {4}

F: die shows even number = {2, 4, 6}

Now E ∩ F = {4} ≠ Φ

Thus E and F are not mutually exclusive.
