The lateral surface area of a cylinder of length 14 m is 220 m2. Find the volume of the cylinder.

In the question it is given that 

Length of the cylinder = 14 m 

Which means, 

That the height of the cylinder = 14m 

Lateral surface area of the cylinder = \(2\pi rh\)

220 = \(2\times\frac{22}{7}\times r\times14\)

r = \(\frac{10}{4}\)

r = 2.5 m 

Hence, 

We can find the volume as, 

Volume of the cylinder = \(\pi r^2h\)

\(\frac{22}{7}\times (2.5)^2\times14\)

= 22 × 2 × 2.5 × 2.5 

= 275 m3
