Let the side of the cube be a units 

Original volume = a3 

Now, 

when each side of the cube is doubled then its volume: 

New side = 2a units 

New Volume = (2a)3 = 8a3 cubic units 

Therefore, the volume of the cube is 8 times than its original volume 

Hence, option D is correct
