Best answer

The mean deviation of the numbers 3, 4, 5, 6, 7

Mean \(\bar X = \frac{3+4+5+6+7}{5}\)

\(\bar X = \frac{25}{5}\)

\(\bar X = 5\)

Xi (xi - mean)
3 -2
4 -1
5 0
6 1
7 2
\(\Sigma x_i = 25\)  \(\Sigma d_i = 0\)

Mean deviation = \(\frac{\Sigma d_i}{\Sigma x_i}\)

Mean deviation = \(\frac{0}{25}\)

Hence, Mean deviation is 0
