(a) Air pressure decreases with height. A barometer used to measure height is called altimeter (where pressure is caliberated in terms of height).
(b) It is the atmospheric pressure [76 cm of Hg column or `(76xx13.6)cm=10.3m` of water column]
that determines the maximum height.
