Correct answer is (b) 7

Since R(5,6) is the midpoint of the line segment AB joining the points

A(6,5) and B(4,y), therefore

\(\frac{5\,+\,y}{2}=6\)

\(\Rightarrow\) 5 + y = 12

\(\Rightarrow\) y = 12 - 5 = 7
