C8​H18​O4​ does not give litmus test and does not give colour with 2,4- DNP.
Hence, carboxylic group and carbonyl group are absent.
Molecular weight=2×vapour density=2×152=304

This is possible for the molecular formula C8​H15​O4​(CH3​CO)3​=C8​H15​O4​C3​H9​C3​O3​.
Thus 3 OH groups are present.
