A woman is wearing sharp heeled shoes or pencil heeled shoes (called stilettos). If the mass of this woman is 50 kg and the area of one heel is `1 cm^(2)`, Calculate the pressure exerted on the ground when the woman stands on just one heel.`(g=10 m //s^(2))`

In this case the force will be the weight of woman which is given by `m xxg` (where m is the mass of woman and fg is the acceleration due to gravity ).So
Force =`mxxg` ltbr. (weight of woman )`=50 xx 10 N` =500 N
And Area `=1 cm ^(2)`
`=(1)/(1000)m^(2)`
Now ` "Pressure" =("Force" )/("Area")`
`(=500xx10000)/(1)`
`= 5000000 N // m^(2)` (or 5000000 pa)
Thus the pressure exerted by a 50 kg woman sharp - heeled shoes and standing jon only one heel o area `1 cm^(2) "is" 5000000 Nm^(2)` (Which is a very, very large pressure ).
