Correct Answer - `(i) 9/17 (ii) 3/17`
Total number of cards = 17.
(i) Let ` E_(1)` be the event of choosing an odd number.
These numbers are 1,3,5,…., 17.
Let their number be n. Then,
` T_(n) = 17 rArr 1 +(n - 1) xx 2 = 17 rArr n = 9`.
` :. P(E_(1)) = 9/17`.
(ii) Let ` E_(2)` be the event of choosing a number divisible by 5.
Numbers divisible by 5 are 5, 10, 15. Their number is 3.
` :. P(E_(2)) = 3/17`.
