Two bodies of mass 10k and 5kg moving in concentric orbits of radii R and r such that their periods are the same. Then the ratio between their centripetal acceleration is:

Best answer

Correct option is (A) R/r

Centripetal acceleration = \(r\omega^2(or\, \frac {v^2}r)\)

Given that both have same periods.

So ω1 = ω2

a1 = Rω2

a2 = rω2

\(\frac{a_1}{a_2} = \frac Rr\)
