(A) If both assertion and reason are true and reason is the correct explanation of assertion. 

(B) If both assertion and reason are true but reason is not the correct explanation of assertion. 

(C) If assertion is true but reason is false. 

(D) If assertion is false but reason is true. 

(E) If both assertion and reason are false.

Assertion: On a banked curved track, vertical component of normal reaction provides the necessary centripetal force. 

Reason: Centripetal force is always required for turning.

\(N \sin \theta = \frac{mv^2}R\)

Horizontal component of normal force provides the centripetal force. Hence false.

Reason:- A curved path need not always be circular path. In case of elliptical paths, the force is not necessarily centripetal.
