A pair of elements having similar properties due to similar number of valence electrons, atomic radii and almost same size are called chemical twin elements.
This effect arises due to lanthanoid contraction.
eg: Zr and Hf, Nb and Ta, Mo and W, Tc and Re are a pair of chemical twins elements.
