Distinguish between esterification and saponification reactions of organic compounds with the help of the chemical equation for each. Write one use of (i) esters and (ii) saponification process?

In esterification reaction, organic acid and alcohol react in te presence of conc. `H_(2)SO_(4)` to form an ester. In saponificatino reaction an ester reacts with alkali (NaOH) to form sod. Salt of acid and alcohol.
(i) Esters are used as pefumes.
(ii) saponification process is useful in the manufacture of soaps.
