Amoeba takes in the food particles with the help of its finger like projections called pseudopodia. Inside its cell a food vacuole is formed around the food particle.Inside the food vacuole, complex substances are broken down into simpler ones by the action of material is sent to the surface of the cell and thrown out.
This process of nutrition in Amoeba is called Endocytosis.
